Experience Luxury at the Mission Pacific Inn in Oceanside

Sharing is caring!

Another one of my absolute favorite hotels is the luxurious Mission Pacific Inn of Oceanside, California. Rated the #1 hotel in San Diego by Conde Nast Traveler in 2022, the Mission Pacific perfectly complements its bright, beachy sister, The Seabird, across the street. Its gorgeous design, lovely amenities, and primo location make staying here a memorable and enjoyable experience.

The Rooms

Soft neutrals and woven textures adorn the rooms, giving off a calming energy that makes you want to stay in and relax all day, especially if you have gloomy weather. In addition to stunning views from the balcony, you will find comfy beds and an open-concept bathroom with unique sliding doors.

Restaurants at the Mission Pacific Inn

Rooftop Bar, the first of its kind in Oceanside, boasts panoramic ocean views while serving refreshing cocktails. Marvel at surfers and longboarders, or enjoy the sunset. We spent a few hours here, but be aware that the bar fills up fast! Either get there early or be prepared to wait.

High/Low serves fresh and healthy breakfast and lunch. I ordered the Cardiff Crack Hash: tri-tip, chimichurri, eggs, and potatoes and enjoyed it. And, of course, coffee. But it was hard to choose what to order; so many things on the menu look good!

I want to try their restaurant Valle next time we stay here. It has a prix fixe four-course menu; I love handing over the reins and trusting that whatever they bring you will be delicious. The food looks stunning, but I have yet to try it.

Finally, movie lovers will enjoy High Pie, the adorable little Victorian Cottage featured in Top Gun. (Click the link to see how adorable it is!) It served as the home for Tom Cruises’ girlfriend in the movie but now functions as a pie store and a great place to grab a sweet bite.

Amenities

There is a rooftop pool with a gorgeous lounge area and cabanas for rent, but we spent our time down on the beach. Towel and chair rentals are available for hotel guests from the little Airstream trailer on the beach in front of the hotels.

In closing…

It’s hard to choose between Mission Pacific and the Seabird; both are INCREDIBLE properties with great locations. The nice thing is, with two great options, you can’t go wrong.

We loved our stay at Mission Pacific, and I can’t wait to return.
