When Marcus insisted that we stay at The Seabird Resort in Oceanside when we were in town for my cousin’s wedding two summers ago, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had never been to Oceanside before and never heard of this hotel. I only knew it had opened recently and that it had ocean views. After staying there for our weekend away, I can tell you: this is one hotel experience you do not want to miss.
Beautiful Coastal Decor
Decorated in ethereal blues and whites and punctuated with pops of yellow, green and orange, the whole hotel exudes Southern California energy. Sunflowers, surfboards, palm trees, and nautical items make it impossible to forget that you are feet from the Pacific Ocean. You instantly feel relaxed the minute you pull up to the property and step foot indoors.
Ideal Location
Located within walking distance from the quaint local food and bar scene, the seasonal Farmer’s Market, and the Oceanside pier, everything you need is right at your fingertips. And with three restaurants, a spa, valet service, and a gorgeous pool on the 3rd floor, what more could you need for a weekend getaway?
Restaurants
Stop in at any of the three restaurants on the property: enjoy breakfast at Piper, a cocktail at the Shore Room, or satisfy your lunch cravings at Shelter Bar on the third floor as you lounge poolside.
Beach Access
Take advantage of the resort’s chair and towel rental as you relax on the sand and watch surfers catch waves or enjoy a romantic sunset or sunrise.
Sunny’s Spa
Need a break from the sun or want to unwind? Book a treatment at Sunny’s Spa, or take a dip in the pool, which boasts an insane view, making it one of the Best Pools in the country, according to US Today.
Comfy Rooms
Our room was airy, bright, comfortable, and spacious and offered a partial view of palm tree-lined streets and the sparkling Pacific. Next time we are splurging on the full ocean view, for sure.
Did I mention the decor?
This hotel completely blew me away; I hadn’t really stayed at too many 5-star hotels before this experience, and it has ruined me forever.
Every single detail was exquisite and thoughtful, from the gorgeous entryway decor to the complimentary water bottles and the robes. I loved the robe so much that Marcus bought it for me to take home. The carpet was so plush that I seriously took my shoes off and walked barefoot from the elevator to our room every time because I am disgusting, but also, the carpet was just. that. soft.
I absolutely fell in love with style and wanted to take home all the furniture, art, plants, decor, everything! Better yet, could the interior designer please just do my whole house? I don’t care that I live in the Southwest; give me that SoCal style anywhere.
The whole property feels like a love letter to Southern California style.
Bottom line: book a stay here. Or at least walk through the property and take it all in. It is like an art gallery.
